Applicants can also qualify based on their income. For income-based applicants documents can be state or federal.
Benefit letters with a time frame must be valid during the time of the application. If the letter does not include a start and ending time frame, it must be issued within the previous 12 months or have a future expiration date.
Qualification:

- Documents must be issued by a state or federal agency and the agency must be visible on the letter. Either the name of the agency or a logo.
- Documents need to include the issuing entity, subscriber name, and address.
Acceptable Documents:
● Your most recently filed tax return (must be signed) or W-2 form
(The tax return form should include the first page with income information and the second page showing it was signed and submitted)
● A signed letter from each employer indicating the level of your wage
● Documentation of social security income
● Copy of an unemployment form with eligibility dates
● Copies of the two most recent unemployment checks
● Social Security Cost of Living Adjustment notice
Requirements:
- Applicants will enter their income level. Verify the income level from the document is at or below the income level on the chart below. Add $8,500.00 for each person in the household over 4.
- When an applicant submits their application, they will verify they are within the income guidelines. They can provide documents for the year or any lower time period, but it needs to cover at least 2 months.
